About the role
We are seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive school community in Chigwell. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About the Role
As a SEND LSA, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
You will help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence in both academic and social settings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
2. Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
3. Support behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
4. Assist with classroom activities and learning plans
5. Encourage inclusion and positive engagement in school life
6. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
About You
We are looking for someone who:
7. Has experience working with children or young people (SEND experience desirable but not essential)
8. Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
9. Has strong communication and teamwork skills
10. Is proactive and willing to learn
11. Holds relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) or is willing to work towards them
