I'm currently recruiting for a proactive and experienced Shift Engineer to join a well-established and fast-paced operation in Exeter. Reporting directly to the Engineering Team Manager, this role is focused on maximising plant uptime and efficiency while ensuring full compliance with mechanical, electrical, and environmental standards. The position offers a salary of up to £45,000.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns
Minimise downtime and restore plant operations as quickly as possible
Support the planning and delivery of long-term repair projects alongside the Engineering Team Manager
Undertake routine maintenance on boilers and pressure systems
Safely isolate equipment for maintenance activities and assist external contractors when required
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure critical spare parts are readily available
Promote high housekeeping standards and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulationsRequirements:
Recognised mechanical and electrical qualifications
Proven experience working with boilers and associated systems
First Aid certification
Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach
Solid understanding of health & safety practices, including COSHH
Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality standardsShift Pattern:
4 on, 4 off rotation
Alternating between 4 day shifts and 4 night shifts
