LCM Design Draughtsperson (Hybrid) This role will be located at our Loughton, Essex office 3 days/week with 2 days working from home. Reporting to the Design Support Manager this role is responsible for: Your role in our future: Creating and maintaining CAD models, drawings, data sheets, bills of materials and supporting documentation Supporting the Design Support, Mechanical Design, and Technical Documentation Teams with data management, change actions, CAD modelling, Technical Documentation, CAD system support and other tasks as necessary Ensuring the smooth running of the Design Support section and Design & Development Department as a whole, giving assistance to other sub-sections as necessary Production and maintenance of CAD models, detail drawings, Bills of Materials and related documentation, to latest requirements, to ensure effective manufacture of Group products. PLM System data entry and maintenance relating to the Department's operation, ensuring Data Competency Standards are complied with. Maintain documentation, database records, work log, project logs and related records relating to the control of documents generated for the Company's products and projects. Implement changes and update related CAD models, drawings, and documentation for current products through the Change Management process. Liaise with Production / Design / Technical departments to establish drawing and documentation creation and modification requirements. Assist in the design of the mechanical elements appropriate to the development of Group products. Assist in the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic designs into the CAD modelling system and produce CAD models and documentation to support this. Assist with the operational management of the QTL Engineering Change System, including all necessary administration, document control and record keeping, and conduct Change Control Board meetings when required. Assist in the management and system administration of the CAD and data management systems used within the Company, providing support such as system administration tasks, data verification, user competency and best practice guidance. Troubleshoot, investigate, and solve problems with CAD models and related data and provide support to the Design Teams for escalated requests. Create and maintain documentation relating to processes used in the Department and develop, improve, and innovate processes and methods used within the role. Special Order completion, release, and administration for manufacture of prototype items. Undertake appropriate Design Support project co-ordination work with the Department's design sections and on projects as allocated. Provide estimations for project planning. Liaise with other Group sites, external suppliers, and customers when necessary. Participate in, and contribute to, QTL Design Support initiatives as determined by the Design Support Manager. Inform and appraise the Design Support Manager as appropriate. Represent the department and Company in a professional manner as required. Ensure that always, in the discharge of responsibilities, the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act are met. Your profile Creo Parametric (or similar 3D CAD system) for 2D drawing and 3D model creation Experience in using a PLM or PDM system for CAD model, drawings and documentation control (PTC Windchill preferred) AutoCAD / AutoCAD LT MS Office Suite (especially Excel) Experience in a similar role in an electro-mechanical design environment Comprehensive Mechanical Detail Draughting experience, including compliance with relevant standards Experience of completing Engineering Changes within a controlled document system Knowledge of and experience in, detail design of mechanical components (especially sheet metal and turned parts), with knowledge of standard industry production methods CAD System administration experience General IT literacy and knowledge with an interest in learning more Experience of creating Exploded view drawings and technical illustrations Electrical engineering knowledge with experience of circuit diagrams and wiring looms \LI-CS43 \LI-Loughton Knowledge gaps can be filled.
