Cyber Security Engineer
Tech Focus: Azure / Microsoft 365 / Purview / Defender / Sentinel
Rate: Circa £400-£500/day
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6 Months
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a small but growing Cloud/Azure team within a global organisation in the construction consultancy sector. The business has now fully moved into Azure Cloud and is looking to strengthen and mature its cyber security posture.
You'll be joining a highly skilled and well-established security and cloud team that plays a crucial role within the organisation. As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will work exclusively within the Microsoft 365 Security Stack, including:
Microsoft Entra ID (Identity & Access Management)
Microsoft Defender XDR (Email, Devices, Apps)
Microsoft Purview (Data Governance & Compliance)
Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM & Threat Response)
This is a hands-on role covering both project work and BAU, giving you the chance to contribute to key security initiatives while also supporting day-to-day cyber operations.
Responsibilities
Managing and improving the organisation's cyber security posture
Security remediation activities
Threat detection and investigation
SOC-style threat response
Endpoint security management
Identity & access management (IAM)
What We're Looking For
Experienced Cyber Security Engineer with strong hands-on experience across Azure & Microsoft security technologies
Practical experience with: Sentinel, Defender, Purview and Entra ID
Ability to work independently, proactive and self-starting
Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with both IT and business stakeholders
