Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced NMC Registered Nurse to join our leadership team as Deputy Manager within our Nursing and Dementia Care Home. This is a key leadership position supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the home. The role requires a strong clinical leader who is confident balancing supernumerary leadership time with clinical shifts, while supporting governance, quality, and regulatory compliance.
You will help drive high standards of care, lead by example on the floor, and support the home in achieving and maintaining strong CQC outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the daily operational management of the home.
Take responsibility for the home, including participation in the on-call rota.
Deliver a mix of supernumerary leadership time and clinical shifts.
Lead, mentor and support nursing and care teams to deliver outstanding person-centred care.
Oversee and review care plans, risk assessments, and medication management.
Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, governance frameworks, safeguarding, and health and safety standards.
Support audits, quality monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote a positive culture focused on dignity, respect, and clinical excellence.
Build strong relationships with residents, families, professionals, and external stakeholders.
About You
NMC Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with an active PIN.
Minimum 1 year's experience in a care home environment.
Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Nurse within elderly or dementia nursing homes.
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and governance expectations.
Confident managing both clinical delivery and operational leadership responsibilities.
Passionate about dementia care and person-centred practice.
Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Resilient, organised, and confident in decision-making.
Requirements
NMC registration (essential).
Proven experience within elderly or dementia nursing care.
Experience supporting CQC inspections and regulatory compliance.
Ability to participate in on-call duties.
