Therole:
Fugro is seeking a ProjectGeotechnical Engineer to join the Land Site Characterisation teambased at the Wallingford, Oxfordshire office, although up toapproximately 50-70% of the time you will be working on clientsites nationally within the UK and occasionallyoverseas.
As a Project Geotechnical Engineer, youwill be responsible for acquisition and reporting data whichenables our clients to make informed decisions during theengineering, design and construction phases of infrastructuredevelopment projects, ultimately reducing project risk andcosts.
Whilst on site, you may be responsible forthe control of field resources, detailed core and sample logging,in situ testing or assisting the site agent and project managementteam. As a company representative on site, you will also beresponsible for client liaison and maintaining communication withproject and reporting managers to report site progress andplanning.
Reporting to a Senior GeotechnicalEngineer, in the office you will take responsibility for deliveringthe findings of onshore and nearshore site characterisationprojects, data and report review, and training members of the LandSite Characterisation Consultancy team.
Who we're lookingfor:
* A degree orsimilar qualification in Earth Sciences or GeotechnicalEngineering.
* Demonstrable experience within theGround Engineering profession, with first-hand knowledge of GroundInvestigation contracting.
* Full UK Drivinglicence;
* Willingness and ability to travelregularly to client offices and site locations across the UK andoverseas;
* Computer literate, capable of usingspreadsheets and SharePoint;
* Capable ofgenerating a safe and quality-based culture within theteam;
* Strong communication skills, both writtenand verbal;
* A good team player and able to formworking relationships with clients and colleagues at alllevels;
* CSCS/SMSTS.
