Overview
The aim is to appoint a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with a special interest in faster diagnostic services and gynaecological oncology to join the established team at University Hospitals Sussex (UHSussex). We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic colleague who will contribute towards the development of the gynaecological oncology faster diagnostic service over the next decade and beyond.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert obstetric and gynaecological care, including management of complex general and obstetric/gynaecological emergencies.
* Lead and contribute to the development of the gynaecological oncology faster diagnostic service.
* Assist with or perform laparoscopic and open abdominal surgery where appropriate.
* Engage in ultrasound scanning, colposcopy and hysteroscopy as applicable to the role.
* Contribute to service development and quality & safety initiatives as desirable.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in managing complex and general gynaecological conditions, including complex obstetric and gynaecological emergencies.
* Experience in laparoscopic and open abdominal surgery is expected; ultrasound scanning, colposcopy and hysteroscopy are desirable.
* Previous involvement in service development and quality & safety initiatives is desirable.
