This post offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified/final stage (CCAB/CIMA) professional with a specialist interest in costing to develop and implement the Health Board’s approach to patient-level costing and finance analytics.
About the Role
You will work closely with Finance Business Partners, Clinicians, Service Management, and other support functions to develop a new costing model linking patient activity to costs and reporting on its outputs.
Working with the Senior Finance Manager, you will help modernise the directorate’s approach to business analytics and support quality improvement, including reviewing how information is gathered, stored, and utilised.
You will be responsible for preparing annual costing returns reporting on the Board’s costs and activity and will lead financial benchmarking, comparing NHS Borders’ costs with similar healthcare organisations.
What we are looking for
An individual with a desire to influence health service delivery by collaborating with clinicians to understand and model patient-level costs and activities.
You should have experience managing complex financial and non-financial data, high IT literacy, and a strong understanding of cost accounting and business analytics.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders to improve data analysis for decision-making.
