Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint substantive Consultant Haematologists to join our friendly, dedicated, and enthusiastic clinical haematology team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH).
Position Details
These are full-time (10 programmed activities) posts for Consultant Haematologists, with a potential job plan outlined within the job description, but negotiable with successful candidates. The post involves outpatient and inpatient care, participation in the out-of-hours on-call service, and contribution to laboratory services. The successful candidates will also participate in inpatient haematology referral reviews and a consultant on-call rota, which will be a 1 in 6 frequency.
Team and Support
Our Haematology Consultant team at Wirral University Hospital comprises 4.0 WTE Haematology consultants covering services across Arrowe Park Hospital. The department is supported by one Specialist Registrar, two F2s, and one CT2. Additionally, there is one Nurse Consultant, 1.8 WTE Specialist Nurses, and 1.0 WTE Support Nurses on the Arrowe Park site.

Principal Duties
1. Provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients, adhering to GMC's 'Good Medical Practice'.
2. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
3. Undertake duties as defined within the job plan, in agreement with the Clinical Service Lead.
4. Manage and be accountable for the use of Trust resources and professionally accountable to the Medical Director.
5. Attend the Trust's corporate induction upon commencement.
6. Participate in the Trust's statutory and mandatory training programs.
7. Manage clinical care for all patients under your supervision.
8. Work flexibly with colleagues to meet service needs and achieve trust and national targets.
