Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
A QA Engineer contributes to the planning, design, development, and execution of tests to ensure high-quality software solutions that meet business and user needs. Responsibilities include:
* Delivering and improving QA solutions in collaboration with other practitioners.
* Ensuring QA of small services or parts of larger services throughout all stages.
* Working with engineers to understand designs and maintain test scripts.
* Building relationships with client counterparts.
* Structuring and assuring work for other QA practitioners.
* Collaborating with DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines.
* Working with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
* Driving innovation and best practices within the engineering discipline.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
* Experience in QA across the software development lifecycle, including functional and automated testing.
* Experience with Cloud solutions (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
* Experience in agile environments (Scrum, Jira, Confluence).
* Strong communication skills.
* Commitment to professional development and certifications.
* Experience with testing tools like JMeter, BrowserStack, Cucumber, OWASP ZAP, SonarQube, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and developer tools.
* Knowledge of non-functional testing practices such as performance, resilience, scalability, accessibility, security, and operational testing.
Desirable skills include experience in professional services, GOV.UK standards, and mentoring less experienced team members. Personal qualities include problem-solving, effective communication, organization, curiosity, analytical skills, and adaptability.
