Overview
Your role: As our Test Automation Engineer, you will lead the development of a robust automated testing capability across Dynamics 365, Business Central, NAV, and a wide range of third‑party integrations. Your work will ensure the Institute’s core platforms are supported by reliable, repeatable, and scalable automated test frameworks that strengthen quality assurance across digital transformation programmes.

Hybrid, London - City. Full time, 24 Month Fixed Term Contract. Salary: £54,000–£64,000.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver automation frameworks, build Azure DevOps test pipelines, and create automated tests that validate business rules, data flows, integrations, and end‑to‑end processes.
* Cover API and integration testing, cloud‑based test execution, and management of test data and environments to ensure consistency and compliance.
* Promote high engineering standards and shift‑left testing practices, embedding automated checks early within development workflows.
* Maintain clear documentation, contribute to shared testing assets, and support continuous improvement through modern automation approaches and emerging QA technologies.
Qualifications
* Experience in automation engineering within complex digital environments and ability to design automated tests using languages such as C#, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
* Understanding of Dynamics 365, Business Central, and NAV environments; comfortable validating extensions, customisations, plugins, workflows, and data models.
* Experience with Azure DevOps, pipelines, test plans, YAML configurations, and automated reporting to support reliable CI/CD delivery.
* Skilled in testing APIs and integrations across REST/SOAP services, Azure Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, and other third‑party interfaces.
* Proficient with SQL to verify data quality, transformations, and reconciliation across CRM and ERP systems.
* Ability to work in Agile environments and collaborate effectively with developers, architects, and product owners to refine requirements and support early‑stage testing.
* Structured, analytical problem‑solving approach with clear communication to technical and non‑technical audiences and strong attention to detail.
* Adaptive and curious, with a willingness to keep pace with evolving technologies, cloud capabilities, and modern automation approaches.
