Your Role
As an experienced hydrologist, you will lead hydrological contributions for national infrastructure and flood risk management projects. Your responsibilities include:
* Providing technical leadership on flood hydrology projects using UK-based methods (FEH, ReFH, etc.)
* Conducting Quality Assurance and technical reviews of hydrology assessments
* Producing high-quality deliverables and presenting complex data effectively
* Developing study approaches with the hydrology leadership team
* Mentoring less experienced hydrologists
* Contributing to bid proposals and innovative client solutions
* Managing projects financially and liaising with clients and stakeholders
* Promoting a safety-first attitude in line with WSP policies
This role involves collaboration across WSP’s global teams, primarily UK-based but with international engagement.
Team & Development
You will join our national flood modelling team, contributing to sector innovation, project delivery, and business development. We support your growth through training, mentoring, and opportunities for Chartership.
Candidate Profile
* Strong understanding of UK hydrological techniques and recent developments
* Experience with statutory body reviews (EA, SEPA, NRW, DfI)
* Commercial awareness and business development skills
* Excellent communication, report-writing, and analytical skills
* Chartership or commitment to achieve it
