Location requirements are for London and surrounding areas (must be able to travel to jobs across London to pickup points, by car or public transport and occasionally nationwide). The role is permanent with an initial trial period, with different contract options available/
We run and manage specialist a on site spraying company working on residential and commercial projects across the UK. We spray and refinish kitchens, windows, doors, soffits & fascia, drainpipes, conservatories, walls and furniture, aswell as plus commercial assets such as shopfronts, industrial units, curtain walling, aluminium frames, cladding panels, office/retail fit-outs, schools, warehouses and hospitality sites. Experience with different substrates is preferred (not essential). We are growing fast and looking for a reliable Masker Prepper to join one of our spray teams.
This is a hands on preparation role. You will be responsible for masking and protecting areas, prepping surfaces, and keeping sites clean and organised so our sprayers can deliver a perfect finish. If you prove yourself, we are happy to train you up into a spraying role long term.
What you will be doing
* Masking and protecting floors, walls, glass, hardware, fittings and surrounding areas
* Interior and exterior prep for spraying including kitchens, windows, doors, furniture, stair parts, metalwork and building elements
* Cleaning and degreasing surfaces correctly before coating
* Sanding and keying surfaces by hand and with sanders where suitable
* Minor filling and surface defect spotting, then re sanding to a smooth finish
* Setting up site protection with sheeting, tapes, paper, films and dust control
* Supporting the sprayer with tool set up, tidying, material handling and keeping the work area professional
* Working safely at height on ladders and occasionally access equipment (training can be provided)
What we are looking for
* London based or very close to London
* Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
* Friendly, honest and professional with customers and teammates
* Comfortable working on ladders and around height work
* Happy to travel for work across the UK when needed (some overnight stays may occur)
* Available for occasional weekend work when projects require it
* Eager to learn and improve speed and quality over time
* Any previous experience in masking, prep, painting, decorating, spraying, construction or refurb is a big plus
Essential requirements
* Right to work in the UK
* Good level of spoken and written English for site instructions and customer communication
* Physically fit enough for manual handling, carrying materials, and standing for long periods
* Able to follow processes, keep a clean finish, and take feedback positively
Desirable
* Driving licence and access to a car (helpful but not required)
* CSCS card (helpful for some sites, not essential)
* Experience using sanding tools, fillers, tapes, masking paper and protective films
We start with a few paid trial days to assess your masking standard, speed, attitude and reliability. If successful, you move into a probationary period with consistent work and clear progression targets. Long term, we are happy to train the right person into spraying.
