Science Teacher – Secondary (KS3–KS5)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £37,868 – £56,154 per annum (MPS/UPS)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a passionate and committed Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Harrow, North West London. This is a permanent, full-time role suitable for ECTs or experienced teachers who are enthusiastic about inspiring young people and delivering high-quality Science education.
You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The successful candidate will become part of a forward-thinking Science department with a strong focus on collaboration, inclusion, and academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Science lessons
• Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available)
• Set, mark, and assess work in line with departmental policies
• Use assessment data to inform planning and targeted intervention
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, progress, and attainment
• Contribute to curriculum development and exam preparation
• Take part in enrichment activities such as STEM clubs, trips, or events
• Support students’ personal development (form tutor role where required)
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and wider school teams
Person Specification
Essential
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Degree in a Science-related subject
• Ability to teach at least two Science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and student wellbeing
Desirable
• Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school
• KS5 teaching experience
• Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider life of the school
