Your new role
As a Finance Assistant, you will be working on a 12-month FTC with the opportunity of a permanent role at the end of your contract. You will supporting the finance function with a broad range of accounting and reporting responsibilities. This is a hands‑on role offering exposure across month‑end, management reporting, and transactional finance, with ownership of specific balance sheet and P&L areas for a small business entity.Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting monthly close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
2. Preparing and reviewing balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
3. Assisting with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
4. Management reporting using financial systems and reporting tools
5. Managing Accounts Receivable and credit control for a small international customer ledger
6. Supporting invoice processing to help the wider finance team meet deadlines
7. Assisting with finance presentations and monthly/quarterly business reviews
8. Providing ad‑hoc finance support as required
The role is full-time ( hours per week), with flexible working hours Monday to Friday and the option for hybrid working once training isplete (2 days WFH). Initially, the role will be site‑based.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
9. 2 years + experience in a finance or accounting role
10. Previous experience in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable
11. Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
12. Confident verbal and writtenmunication skills
13. The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
14. A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
15. A team‑focused attitude with a positive, adaptable approach
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an associate degree in accounting or a related discipline preferred.Above all, this role will suit someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team, is eager to learn, and brings a positive attitude to their work.
