About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide personalised support for a pupil with additional needs. You’ll help them access the curriculum, develop social and communication skills, and build confidence in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs.
2. Assist with learning activities, targeted interventions, and classroom engagement.
3. Encourage independence, focus, and positive behaviour.
4. Support emotional regulation and social interaction.
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
6. Follow safeguarding and inclusion policies to ensure pupil well-being.
Requirements:
7. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
8. Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a 1:1 capacity.
9. Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships.
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
11. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
