Controls & Instrumentation Technician
Location: Salford. Salary: £42,000-£45,000 per year, 65 paid days off, training, 12% pension, private medical insurance, and additional benefits.
This role involves testing and maintaining safety instrumentation on large processing machinery, including control valves, level-pressure systems, substations, and commercial electrical systems. It is a 60/40 split between planned and reactive maintenance, requiring you to work one in five weekends, with a subsequent week off.
Responsibilities
* Perform safety instrumentation tests on level-pressure systems and control valves.
* Proof test components such as temperature controls and motors.
* Conduct commercial electrical testing, maintenance, and installation.
* Inspect and repair substations.
* Work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (37.5 hours). One weekend per five, with a following week off.
Qualifications
* Background in manufacturing, food, waste, chemical, or a similar industry.
* Experience with controls and instrumentation.
