Contracts/Commercial Manager - Fire Engineering Consultancy - Derry/Londonderry - UK/Middle East Projects Your new company Hays have partnered with a company that specialises in fire safety design, engineering, consulting, and specialisation. This company is in a period of growth and is seeking an experienced Contracts/Commercial Manager to oversee projects which span across the UK and Middle East. The role will be based at their head office in Derry/Londonderry with regular interaction from their other offices throughout the UK and Middle East. Your new role As a Contract and Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of contractual agreements related to fire engineering services and operations. With your keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to multitask effectively, you will contribute significantly to the successful execution of fire engineering projects and the financial success of the business. The role will require some adhoc travel but will not be required on a weekly basis. Lead commercial activities, ensuring contract delivery meets client expectations and maintains profitability. Draft clear, accurate contracts aligned with organisational objectives and legal requirements. Use knowledge of UK and Middle Eastern contract law to negotiate and manage region-specific contracts. Review contract terms meticulously, identify potential risks, and ensure all obligations are met. Conduct risk assessments for each contract, identify potential risks and opportunities, and implement strategies to mitigate risks and maximise profitability. Foster relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and alignment on objectives. Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Prepare accurate reports and financial statements related to contract performance and project progress. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to contract management and commercial delivery. What you'll need to succeed Expertise in contract administration and negotiation. Comprehensive understanding of UK and Middle Eastern contract law. Previous experience in the Engineering Consultancy or Construction Industry. Project Management experience Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Negotiation skills Strong analytical capabilities. Detail-oriented approach. Ability to work collaboratively in a team. Desirable: Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Master’s degree in business, legal, or commercial fields.
