Quantity Surveyor

Thomas Search are working on behalf of an independent consultancy to appoint a Chartered Quantity Surveyor into their growing and successful Cost consultancy team. You will work on a wide and varied portfolio of projects in a commercial environment, supporting an enviable national client base. This is a client-facing role offering early responsibility, structured support, and excellent long-term career progression within a flexible and collaborative working environment. Will play a key part in supporting business growth by delivering high-calibre, commercially focused cost consultancy advice across a range of sectors.
What You’ll do:
* Contract administration with detailed knowledge of standard forms of contract including JCT Minor Works, Intermediate and Standard Building Contracts (experience of NEC, GC Works and PPC 2000 desirable)
* Cost planning and estimating
* Understanding of procurement routes and strategies
* Preparation of tender and contract documentation, including Schedules of Works and Bills of Quantities
* Measurement (manual and CAD Measure) with a sound understanding of construction processes
* Knowledge of Reinstatement Cost Assessments
* Strong understanding of material costings and sourcing cost data
What We are looking for:
* Independent delivery of procurement, including single-stage and two-stage tendering
* Cost consultancy experience across commercial, residential and retail sectors
* Demonstrable experience of effective client relationship managementi>
* Proven ability to deliver end-to-end commercial cost consultancy services
* Experience working with a variety of contract forms
* Strong team player
* Confident, professional communicator (written and verbal)
* Commercially aware
* Client-focused, with a desire to exceed expectations
* Enthusiastic and proactive
* Highly accurate with strong attention to detail
