What's involved with this role: Temporary Funding Officer/Admin Job Ref: N Warwickshire 5248508 Pay Rate: Up to £13.47 per hour PAYE depending on experience Hours per week: 37 Monday to Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 10-11 months City: Atherstone, Warwickshire Pay rate negotiable for the right candidate The post holder will be responsible for the identification of opportunities to secure external funding to support the development and delivery of services across the Authority. Thereafter, the post holder will lead on the research, development and submission of approved external funding applications and supplementary documentation that support implementation of relevant Service Plans. This work will, of necessity, involve close co-operation and liaison with internal colleagues, external partners and stakeholders and the local community. Key Responsibilities: To support the Community Development Manager on the delivery of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, including maintaining regular contact with applications to monitor progress. Identify opportunities to secure external (capital, revenue and / or in-kind) funding to support the development and delivery of current and proposed services across the entire range of Authority’s activities. Lead on the research of, and, in conjunction with senior and service managers, develop and submit external funding applications and supplementary documentation that support implementation of relevant Service Plans. Liaise and work closely with internal colleagues, external partners and all potential sources of financial support to ensure that any and all applications for external assistance are professional, thorough and accorded the maximum opportunity for success. Assist, as required, with the monitoring, review and evaluation of externally supported projects, programmes and initiatives and to ensure that the reporting requirements of those external organisations supporting corporate activity are met in a timely and professional manner. To use professional development and networking opportunities to keep informed of current engagement best practice and external funding opportunities, and to share information appropriately. Be an ambassador for the Borough Council, ensuring that activity for which the post holder is responsible assumes and maintains a high and positive public profile, both within North Warwickshire and across the sub-region. Positively contribute to the Borough Council’s responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, to be aware of the signs and symptoms of abuse and, in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure, respond appropriately to any identified concerns. Qualifications: Minimum 5 GCSE Grade 4 / C or equivalent including Maths, English and Science. Skills & Experience: Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation. Relevant and proven project management skills and experience, including in respect of the management of budgets. Experience of working in partnership with a wide range of organisations in the public, private and / or community / voluntary sector; knowledge and understanding of the value of partnering and evidence of its application to both internal and external customers and stakeholders Direct experience in leading the preparation of complex applications for external funding support for community-based projects and initiatives and a track record of success in securing grant aid Relevant and proven skills and experience of managing grant programmes, both in respect of funding being brought into an organisation and also in respect of funding being distributed to community groups. Ability to clearly express complex projects, programmes, and situations, both orally and in writing, in a manner appropriate to the intended audience Ability to confidently communicate with a wide range of individuals, organisations and groups, including Councillors, senior officers, public, private and community sector representatives, local residents, etc. Ability to think creatively and bring an innovative and imaginative approach to the means by which to secure community engagement in the design, development and delivery of community-based projects and also to the sourcing of external funding for service developments.
