As a SEND KS3 Teaching Assistant, your role will be essential in supporting students' emotional and academic development. You will work alongside teachers and the wider team to deliver tailored interventions, manage challenging behaviours and provide emotional support to help students thrive in a safe learning environment. You will have experience within a SEND, Alternative Provision, PRU or a challenging mainstream school. Key Responsibilities: Supporting KS3 students with SEMH needs in accessing the curriculum through tailored activities and interventions. Building trusting relationships with students to promote engagement, confidence, and emotional regulation. Assisting the Teacher with behaviour management using trauma-informed and positive reinforcement techniques. Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning and develop independence. Always ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, adhering to safeguarding policies. Requirements : Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs. Compassionate, patient, and resilient with a genuine desire to support vulnerable learners. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and positive behaviour management. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students. Adaptable and proactive, capable of managing challenging situations calmly and safely. Willingness to undertake relevant training and development opportunities.
