Job Summary
A unique and exciting role has arisen for an enthusiastic Junior Physiotherapist to join our existing specialist therapy teams at Hobbs Rehabilitation.
We are looking for someone with a passion for neurological rehabilitation to join our specialist MDT at Hobbs' Intensive Neurotherapy Centre in Bristol. The post will be part of our junior physiotherapist rotation, incorporating outpatient, inpatient and residential services across several Hobbs sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for autonomously assessing and treating a wide range of neurological patients in an outpatient setting with support from our experienced and friendly multi-disciplinary team (MDT), working alongside OT, SLT, Psychology and RA colleagues. We treat patients undergoing packages of intensive treatment as well as outpatients with complex neurological conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, brain injury and MS. We use a combination of conventional hands-on therapy and clinically-led neurotechnology, including exoskeletons, FES, robotic gait trainers, upper limb devices like MyoPro and GripAble, and virtual and augmented reality.
Main Duties
1. Assess patients with physical or cognitive impairments using formal and informal assessments.
2. Treat within your scope of practice, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
3. Formulate patient-centred goals with the MDT.
4. Provide 1:1 and group physiotherapy interventions based on evidence-informed practice.
5. Evaluate patient progress using outcome measures.
6. Act as point of contact for patients, families, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
7. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
8. Make appropriate onward referrals.
9. Maintain accurate clinical notes using site-specific software.
10. Write patient reports for review by patients, families, and professionals.
11. Participate in patient and family meetings, face-to-face and via video.
12. Work towards objectives with supervision and independent learning.
13. Contribute to local in-service training and CPD activities.
