Responsibilities of our Assistant Practitioner include: - To assist the Registered Nurse / Service Manager in leading a team, ensuring a high quality of care and service is always provided to residents. - Ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident’s care - Encouraging your team and engaging with residents in conversation at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences - To undertake training in specific skills/ area of work and following satisfactory competency assessment provide those tasks to residents when delegated by Registered Nurse. - To read and understand the guidance to care, treatment and support for residents in a care home - To read and understand The NMC and Royal College Nursing Guidance on delegated authority for untertaking taks supporting the Registered Nurse. - To manage and support the Service Manager with staffing this includes recruitment, induction, orientation, training, supervision, supporting, mentoring, monitoring, evaluation, appraisal and absence monitoring. - To advise the service manager of the requirement of medical equipment, continence products and nursing supplies and place orders once authorised by the service manager. - To assist the Service Manager with internal and external audits ,ensuring the quallity checks are completed as required. - Administering and recording medication as prescribed, with accurate monitoring of drug dose to the residents in the home - Ensure all staff are aware of and follow safeguarding procedures and policies. - To attend managemnet meetings as and when required, ensuring the home runs effectively and efficiently and achievs the CQC standards. - To create and develop Key worker system, prepare staff rota when advised by the service manager in accordance with the budget guidelines - Maintaining excellent working realationships, effectively communicating with clients and care proffesionals to receive feedback ensuring excellent quality standards of care, support and service is provided. - To support residents on trips outside the home, attending events in the community and other services, undertaking assessments and training event based on the care plan. What we’re looking for in our Assistant Practitioner: To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. A recognised management qualification or management training is desirable.However it is key that you hold prior experience within a caring role, ideally in the same profession or at a Senior level. Typically, our residents live with age related conditions, life-limiting health conditions, mental health conditions and physical disabilities that require dignified support from our care team. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities. Professional Qualification - NVQ 3 in Social care with at least 3-4 years experience working in a caring facility is essential.
