Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and coordination for the day‑to‑day operations of the IT Support team, ensuring consistent and effective technical support services across the organization.
* Serve as the primary escalation point for advanced technical issues and support the resolution of complex system and infrastructure problems.
* Coordinate cybersecurity activities to support the organization’s security posture and ensure alignment with established policies, standards, and risk management practices.
* Provide hands‑on technical support and operational assistance related to endpoints, servers, networks, and enterprise systems when required.
* Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IT operational processes, standards, and documentation.
* Collaborate with the Director of IT, operational leaders, and external vendors to support technology initiatives, service delivery, and system reliability.
* Support organizational governance and compliance efforts related to IT systems, cybersecurity practices, and technology risk management.
* Contribute to the development and mentorship of IT staff and help foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence within the IT team. Note: This role provides coordination and operational oversight of cybersecurity activities and does not function as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
Tasks
* Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership and direction to the IT Support team.
* Act as the primary escalation point for Tier 2 support issues.
* Coordinate IT support coverage across all organizational locations.
* Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring of IT support staff.
* Support the development and enforcement of IT standard operating procedures.
* Monitor service desk performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Coordinate cybersecurity activities in alignment with organizational policies and standards.
* Serve as liaison with cybersecurity vendors, managed service providers, and consultants.
* Support vulnerability management processes including patch coordination and remediation tracking.
* Assist with cybersecurity awareness initiatives such as phishing education and staff training.
* Support cybersecurity incident response activities including coordination, documentation, and follow‑up.
* Participate in risk assessments, security audits, and compliance activities as required.
* Provide hands‑on technical troubleshooting and support when required.
* Assist with endpoint, server, and network troubleshooting.
* Support system deployments, upgrades, and migrations.
* Maintain documentation related to systems, procedures, and security practices.
* Ensure consistent application of IT standards and configurations across organizational sites.
* Work with the Director of IT to support operational planning and prioritization of IT initiatives.
* Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to support organizational technology needs.
* Support technology systems managed outside the IT department through coordination and guidance.
* Assist with vendor management, service reviews, and ongoing technology service evaluation.
* Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
* Five years of progressive experience in information technology support or systems.
* Degree or diploma in Information Technology and/or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Certification in CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft or equivalent.
* Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership or acting as a team lead.
* Strong understanding of desktop, server, and network fundamentals.
* Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Experience in a healthcare or regulated environment.
* Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks, standards, or assessments.
* Experience working with managed service providers or security vendors.
Salary
As per the Northwood scale
