Originally named Sutton College of Liberal Arts, it transitioned to Sutton College of Learning for Adults in 2001. The college collaborates with community groups and local employers to offer a wide range of qualifications, skills, and hobby courses.
Role Description
There are 2 different opportunities; sessional or part-time 18 hours each week (12 hours teaching and 6 hours administration) on-site role for a Floristry Teacher at Sutton College, located in Sutton. The Floristry Teacher will be responsible for lesson planning, teaching, and training students in floristry. The teacher will prepare educational materials, conduct practical and theoretical classes, and provide feedback to help students develop their skills.
Mandatory qualifications:
1. An appropriate teaching qualification for the Post 16 Sector (e.g. DET / Cert. Ed. or equivalent) and/or willingness to complete a L4 qualification within the 1st year of appointment
2. A qualification in the subject specialism (to at least Level 4 e.g. HND, 1st Degree), or an in-depth knowledge and a minimum of 3 years' substantial experience in teaching
3. Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) qualifications in English & Mathematics
Desirable Qualifications
1. A1 Assessors qualification or equivalent
2. V1 Verifiers qualification or equivalent
Professional Experience
1. Experience of teaching in Adult Education or Further education post 16 college/ training environment.
2. Experience of teaching a range of levels up to GCSE English/Maths, including preparation for GCSE and functional skills.
3. Experience of quality improvement processes which support and develop practice.
