Nelson MandelaSheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a growing and ambitious accountancy practice based in North Hertfordshire to recruit an experienced and driven Accounts Manager.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong practice experience to take a leading role within a forward-thinking firm that values both its clients and its people. You will oversee a client portfolio, manage a small team, and support the partners in delivering a high-quality service across accounts, tax, and business advisory.Responsibilities of the Accounts Manager include:
* Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact.
* Prepare and review statutory accounts in compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102.
* Oversee corporation tax returns and VAT compliance.
* Support and develop junior team members through coaching and mentoring.
* Review and improve internal processes and workflow efficiency.
* Assist partners with business advisory services and client development.
* Ensure deadlines and regulatory requirements are met across the team.
The successful Accounts Manager:
* ACA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience).
* Proven experience in an accountancy practice environment.
* Excellent technical knowledge of accounting and tax compliance.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Proficient with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Iris.
* Ability to manage workloads effectively and build strong client relationships.
