We are currently recruiting Driver / Vehicle Inspectors to join our team in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire. Successful candidates will be working on behalf of one of the UK's leading automotive and logistics businesses.
This is a varied role combining vehicle movement duties with vehicle inspection work. The successful candidates will primarily support compound operations but will also receive training in inbound vehicle inspections, providing support to the inspection team during busy periods.
Regular overtime is available for candidates looking to maximise their earnings.
The Role:
As a Driver / Vehicle Inspector, your responsibilities will include:
1. Moving vehicles safely around a large automotive compound
2. Parking vehicles in designated bays and moving them in and out of workshops
3. Handling a range of vehicles, from everyday family cars to high-performance vehicles
4. Driving manual, automatic, and semi-automatic vehicles
5. Conducting basic visual inspections before moving vehicles and reporting any damage
6. Carrying out inbound vehicle inspections following training
7. Identifying and recording vehicle damage or defects using handheld devices and internal systems
8. Supporting the inspection team during peak workload periods
9. Maintaining accurate inspection records and documentation
10. Working outdoors in all weather conditions
The Person:
11. Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points for minor offences)
12. Confident driving a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes
13. Experience with both manual and automatic transmissions is essential
14. Good attention to detail and ability to identify vehicle damage
15. Comfortable using handheld devices and completing basic documentation
16. Previous vehicle inspection or compound driving experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
17. Comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment
18. Reliable, professional, and able to work as part of a team
