HGV Class 1 Driver
We are looking for a Regional Class 1 HGV Driver based from any of our Scotland depots: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, & Dundee. The role involves providing cover for all depots and drivers across Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity to join the UK market leader in powered access. The role requires travel and coverage across the region. Travel and accommodation arrangements will be paid for by the company when needed.
As an HGV Class 1 driver, candidates should have the correct licences, hold a CPC card, enjoy dealing with people daily, possess excellent customer service skills, and understand the importance of health and safety.
In return, you'll receive full training, a salary of £32,500 plus a regional allowance of £4,000, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance, Westfield Health Insurance, auto-enrolment pension, and retail discounts.
Responsibilities include:
1. Load and unload machines following company procedures and using appropriate equipment.
2. Maintain security of loads during loading, transportation, and delivery.
3. Handover machines to customers and demonstrate machine operation.
4. Carry out daily checks on the vehicle and ancillary equipment.
5. Comply with legislation regarding vehicle safety, tachograph operation, and working hours.
6. Relay customer queries to depot staff as required.
7. Act as a company ambassador, providing high customer care standards and maintaining politeness.
8. Accurately complete all relevant paperwork.
About you:
1. You must hold an HGV Class 1 license and a full CPC card.
2. Be flexible to stay away from home approximately three nights per week (accommodation provided).
3. Experience with driving low loader vehicles or recovering vehicles is preferred, but full training can be provided.
4. Understand the importance of customer service, as you will demonstrate equipment to customers.
5. Have a good understanding of HGV vehicle safety and maintenance.
