Overview
The post-holder will become fully conversant and competent in providing administrative support within the Older People Care Unit, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Training will involve working alongside the administrative staff in the different areas of the department, under supervision. The post-holder will gain diverse administration experience within the Older People Care Unit, supporting a variety of teams. The post-holder will be given support and time to complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
* Provide general office and administration support services.
* Undertake general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying, handling incoming and outgoing post, etc.
* Under supervision, develop and maintain administrative support systems and manual and electronic filing systems, ensuring that systems are effective in their use and are reviewed regularly.
* Record and securely store information relating to confidential matters and enquiries.
* Contribute to the administrative work within the team and provide support as required whilst gaining knowledge and experience and undertaking training in the Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Qualification and Training
* Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship (18 months). Knowledge-based off the job training will take place during the apprenticeship, and the apprentice must complete 20% off-the-job training to be eligible for the apprenticeship.

* Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change; this salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

* DBS check: Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The DBS application cost is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced). The cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service (£16 per year).
