ABOUT US:
Situated on the shores of Loch Lomond, Scotland's breathtaking jewel, Cameron House is a magnificent 5-star resort. The iconic lochside setting is a timeless celebration of grandeur and natural beauty. Spanning 400 acres of picturesque Scottish countryside, with adventure on the doorstep. Loch Lomond, with its impressive backdrop, is the perfect location for a variety of water and land activities, including speedboat tours, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, 4X4 off-road driving, falconry, and more.
THE ROLE:
The Commis Chef is responsible for carrying out basic food preparation to a good standard. They will be able to identify flavour and seasoning balances and correct any discrepancies. They can be tasked with any basic assignment within the kitchen including cleaning and food preparation tasks and are able to follow a recipe with guidance from the senior chef team.
Youll also be expected to deliver on the following:
Can undertake basic food preparation and cooking tasks, increasing in speed and confidence after full training is given to them.
Showing promise in setting up any section in their assigned kitchen, ensuring all food safety is met as directed by the outlet head chef.
Full training is given to conform to HACCP, Trail and Scotland EHO guidelines and standards on a daily basis, expected to ask questions if unsure.
Replicating consistency and quality of dishes in line with the senior chefs direction and standard.
Demonstrates an improved and consistent standard of culinary skills in most aspects of the kitchen when trained.
Expected to assist in any section of the kitchen if requested by a senior chef, including supporting the KPs or the Stores department.
Must be familiar with their outlet kitchens layout and the safety and security of their outlet kitchen after full training, if unsure to ask questions.
Expected to assist the CDP team and help in any section of another outlet if required by the executive chef or executive sous chef.
Must show compliance with cleanliness within their section.
Undertakes any instruction given to them by a senior chef.
Demonstrates an improved and consistent standard of culinary skills in most aspects of the kitchen when trained.
Ensure proper and correct storage of all food items during service times on their section after full training.
Capable of identifying shortfalls and food needing to be ordered for their sections when asked.
Able to work under supervision, asks questions when unsure and has their mise en place checked every time.
Shows care in personal hygiene and care when handling food.

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
Apprenticeship or relevant work experience within a professional kitchen
Good communication skills
Basic IT skills, and food hygiene qualification an advantage

The original estate was home to the Smollett family for over 300 years, including the famous 18th Century novelist and poet, Tobias Smollett.
