Position: Regional Soft Services FM Manager

Location: Covering services in the Southern Region which includes mainly West Sussex and London Area

Salary Package of £54,700 D.O.E (Plus discretionary EOT bonus tax free)

Car Allowance: £385 pcm

Hours: 37.5

Contract: Full time, permanent

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Hotel Services, you will be responsible to oversee, support & guide the Catering & Domestic teams across the Shaw Healthcare business, in conjunction with the Care Home & Operations Management Teams, ensuring high standards and the best possible Foodservice, Quality & Cleanliness is consistently achieved and maintained at all times.

This includes ALL Catering, Domestic Cleaning & Laundry operations.

Principal duties

3. To take an active role in leading culture change and building and sustaining employee engagement.
4. To maintain and provide a professional positive relationship with our Contract partners, where appropriate and provide a service that is responsive to the targets contained within the Specifications and Payment Mechanisms of the Company’s Contracts.
5. To support and advise the Homes on appropriate Catering & Domestics Staffing levels & Rotas
6. To ensure awareness and compliance with new legislation, directives and practices.
7. Perform any other duties as may be required and will be required to visit / spend time at all sites.

MAIN DUTIES

CATERING

To ensure “Shaw Minimum Mealtime Standards” are achieved at all times thus providing a great service that offers fine meals, beautifully presented, fresh, clean, attractive and well-furnished surroundings, that underpins excellent Care and helps to ensure that Mealtimes are the highlight of the day for our Residents.

To improve the standard of care relating to all aspects of Food Service through:

8. Supporting our Care staff in excellent Food Presentation & Meal time experience for our Service Users.
9. Identification, preparation and implementation of improvement plans.
10. Identifying training requirements, appropriate training and implementing in conjunction with Shaw Training Department.
11. Ensure compliance with Legislation in all aspects of Food Safety.
12. Responsibility for Shaw Food Safety Policy and updating as appropriate.
13. Monitor Food spends against Budgets & Occupancy levels ensuring controls in place along with providing support & guidance to Homes ensuring highest quality meals balanced with cost effectiveness/control.
14. Monitor Food Waste with a focus on minimising / reducing.
15. Provide expert advice & guidance on Homes Menus / Recipes i.e.Average daily Nutrients are achievedAllergensIDDSI processes and procedures are followedLead and support on Menu & Recipe Software System
16. Support and guide Shaw Kitchen teams to provide the best possible Foods for Shaw Residents at all times.
17. Ensure Kitchen Teams follow best practice & legal requirements in all aspects of Foodservice & Food Safety.

CLEANING (Inc Laundry)

To ensure all Shaw Homes continually improve & maintain the highest standards of Cleanliness with contributes to maintaining a “Homely & Welcoming “environment for Residents, Staff & Visitors at all times.

18. Provide expert guidance & support to Home Management & Domestic Teams with particular attention to:EfficienciesCleaning practicesInfection ControlUse of appropriate Equipment & ChemicalsCOSHHResident Safety
19. Review Cleaning processes and Auditing tools to ensure compliance / compatibility with NHS Cleaning Standards 2021.
20. Monitor Cleaning, Laundry Supplies & Suppliers spends to ensure control of costs and Budgets are adhered to.

Essential Criteria

21. Must have Healthcare - (Private and or NHS) Catering experience
22. Experience of managing & controlling large budgets
23. Knowledge and application of all current Food Hygiene legislation
24. Excellent working knowledge of HACCP
25. Food production knowledge acquired through supervisory and management experience
26. Experience of multi-site & geographically dispersed operations
27. Experience & knowledge of Infection Control practices / procedures

Desirable Criteria

28. Knowledge and experience of PFI and or Local Authority Contract compliance
29. Team Leadership to support & guide a skilled and motivated workforce.
30. Results-Driven: A quality and process-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
