Purpose of the Role
My client is seeking a Procurement Manager - to lead and manage the Indirects category, including soft FM, call monitoring, recruitment, IT, legal, uniforms, and more. This is a greenfield role, offering the opportunity to deliver significant value to the organisation through effective sourcing and contracting.
The role is focused on developing and executing category strategies that achieve best-in-class outcomes in terms of quality, cost, service proposition, and innovation. You will collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders to understand cost, price, service and performance baselines, define business requirements, evaluate supplier capabilities, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability, and value creation across the category.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Indirects category, including soft FM, call monitoring, recruitment, IT, legal, uniforms, and others.
* Review current contracts, supplier performance, spend data, and market benchmarks to inform the sourcing strategy and assess potential benefits.
* Develop and execute category strategies through strategic sourcing and tender processes.
* Prepare tender documentation for individual sub-categories (e.g., RFIs, RFPs, pricing matrixes, evaluation criteria, scorecards).
* Facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure business requirements are accurately captured and addressed.
* Manage evaluation and selection panels, ensuring fairness and transparency throughout the process.
* Present findings, recommendations, and status updates to senior leadership.
* Lead contract negotiations and oversee mobilisation activities.
* Manage a team of up to two FTE, as required.
Key Deliverables
* Comprehensive category strategies, including sourcing approaches, benefits, delivery timelines, and mobilisation plans.
* Tangible savings to the organisation and its stakeholders through improved procurement practices.
* Management of the end-to-end sourcing processes across all sub-categories.
* Performance management of both incumbent and newly onboarded supply chains, ensuring cost efficiency and operational excellence.
* Introduction of supply market innovations to drive financial and operational improvements.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in leading and managing an Indirect category.
* Track record of delivering at pace and executing strategies that provide measurable benefits.
* In-depth understanding of end-to-end sourcing processes, including contract negotiation.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Strong commercial acumen and analytical abilities to evaluate supplier proposals effectively.
* Capable of working autonomously and delivering work to tight deadlines.
Salary: £70,000 - £85,000
Remote role, occasional head office visits. (must be UK based)
