The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will:
Hold operational leadership of a childrens home supporting disabled young people aged 518
Register with Ofsted and ensure full compliance with the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
Lead and develop a staff team, ensuring supervision, training, mentoring, and consistent high-quality practice
Oversee staffing, rotas, recruitment, performance management, and team culture
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure safeguarding is embedded throughout the home
Manage budgets, resources, and property-related responsibilities, ensuring efficient and safe operation
Drive continuous improvement and contribute to strong inspection outcomes
Oversee all care plans, assessments, risk management and documentation
Work collaboratively with parents, carers, education professionals, health teams, and social workers
Join the management on-call rota to ensure leadership availability
What Were Looking For
Significant experience within childrens residential care, ideally specialising in disability
Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of the needs of children with complex care requirements
Clear knowledge of Ofsted regulations, the Quality Standards, and the inspection process
Experienced in staff leadership, development, and performance management
Ability to manage crises, dynamic environments, and multi-agency responsibilities
Excellent communication, organisational and report-writing skills
A values-led approach with a commitment to safeguarding and high-quality care
