Manual test engineer Application testing and network testing Opportunity The Manual Test Engineer will be responsible for performing end-to-end application testing and network-level testing to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of enterprise applications and infrastructure. The role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on testing experience, and the ability to work in a secure, SC-cleared environment. Candidates must be eligible for SC (Security Check) Clearance, with preference for those already holding active clearance. Required Skills & Qualifications 37 years of hands-on experience in manual testing. Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Defect Lifecycle. Proven experience in application testing (web/mobile/desktop). Knowledge of network fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing basics LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi testing Proxy/Firewall behaviour Ability to analyse logs (application logs, browser dev tools, network traces). Basic SQL skills for backend data validation. Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to coordinate with developers, network teams, and business users. Detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline. Your responsibilities Application Testing Analyse functional and technical requirements to design comprehensive test cases and scenarios. Perform functional, regression, exploratory, integration, smoke, UI/UX, and end-to-end testing. Validate application workflows, data handling, input validations, error messages, and API responses. Conduct cross-browser and device compatibility testing where required. Support UAT cycles and collaborate with business users to ensure application readiness. Log defects with detailed reproduction steps, screenshots, logs, and severity/priority. Network Testing Perform LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity testing. Validate IP addressing, DHCP/DNS resolution, routing behaviour, and access control rules. Test application behaviour across different network paths, bandwidth conditions, and latency. Verify firewall rules, port accessibility, and proxy configurations where applicable. Work with network engineering teams to capture logs, packet traces, and troubleshoot network issues. Conduct pre- and post-network change validations and provide evidence-based test reports. Documentation & Reporting Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, RTM (Requirements Traceability Matrix), and test evidence. Provide daily/weekly test execution reports and defect dashboards. Maintain accurate documentation in test management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, etc.). Quality Governance & Compliance Adhere to ITIL-based Change/Release Management processes. Ensure compliance with security and confidentiality requirements for SC-cleared environments. Follow standard QA processes, organisational guidelines, and audit requirements.
