WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
This role is offered on a Site Based Contract with a Hybrid Working Pattern.
Join our community. We are the Insurance and Asset Management product IT team, delivering and maintaining applications across various technologies, including online applications (APIs, Microservices), batch processes (Spark/Scala-Hadoop/Big Data Ecosystem), and legacy components. Our main objective is to deliver innovative solutions that meet business requirements, enabling us to sell Insurance and Wealth products through all channels with fast and user-friendly solutions.
The role involves providing technical support and leadership throughout the software lifecycle: design, maintenance, configuration, networking, and security. You will participate in stakeholder discussions to translate business needs into technical solutions aligned with bank and architectural principles.
The difference you’ll make
* Designing solutions and technical diagrams with Architects and third parties, engaging with senior technical stakeholders.
* Leading the team’s transition to the cloud, providing guidance and support to domain engineers, and collaborating with the “Cloud onboarding” team.
* Understanding, designing, reviewing, and improving APIs and Microservices for performance and efficiency.
* Collaborating with third parties to define joint solutions and integration points for robust, resilient systems.
* Representing the domain in Security and API Governance matters.
* Ensuring solutions follow best practices and leverage the latest technology trends.
What you’ll bring
* Self-motivated learner with the ability to acquire and share knowledge of new technologies and frameworks.
* Experience managing end-to-end deployment and configuration of APIs & Microservices (DevOps skills).
* Knowledge of both Front-end and Back-end technologies, including security protocols.
* AWS cloud experience, managing production environments.
* Networking expertise.
* Strong analytical and communication skills, with team project experience.
It would also be nice for you to have
* Advanced networking skills and experience.
* Java programming knowledge.
* Ability to adapt across multiple activities and shifting priorities.
* Experience minimizing incidents and maximizing service quality in production.

Our tech stack includes both new and legacy technologies. We are actively working to phase out legacy systems, focusing on Big Data, API, third-party integrations, and AWS.
We promote continuous learning and upskilling within our team, encouraging teaching and knowledge sharing.
This is a permanent role based in Milton Keynes with hybrid working. On-call support will be required.
