Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Liverpool
Salary: GBP30,000 : GBP35,000 (Dependent on Experience)
About the Role
An established and growing engineering consultancy is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join its Liverpool:based team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of geotechnical and ground investigation projects across the commercial, residential, infrastructure, and development sectors.
The successful candidate will be involved in both site:based and office:based activities, supporting projects from initial investigation through to technical assessment, reporting, and project delivery. Key Responsibilities
* Undertake and supervise ground investigation works across a variety of sites.
* Coordinate site operations and ensure technical standards are maintained throughout project delivery.
* Log soil and rock samples in accordance with current industry standards.
* Prepare factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
* Assist with geotechnical assessments, foundation recommendations, and earthworks evaluations.
* Support Phase I and Phase II site investigations where required.
* Manage subcontractors, drilling crews, and site contractors.
* Monitor project programmes, budgets, and deliverables.
* Maintain accurate project records and technical documentation.
* Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
Requirements
* Previous experience within a geotechnical, engineering geology, or geo:environmental consultancy.
* Understanding of ground investigation techniques, soil and rock logging, and geotechnical assessment practices.
* Degree qualified in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Knowledge of current geotechnical standards, regulations, and best practices.
* Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Commercial awareness and ability to manage project priorities.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.
