Launch Your Teaching Career Making a Difference: Trainee Teacher (Autism Specialist) Are you passionate about unlocking the potential of children and young people with autism? Do you aspire to become a qualified teacher in a supportive, specialist environment where you can truly change lives? A pioneering independent day school in the beautiful Surrey countryside near Cranleigh is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Trainee Teacher to join our highly skilled team. This is a unique, fully-funded opportunity to embark on a comprehensive, school-based teacher training programme and build a rewarding career in the field of Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our school is a center of excellence for the education of children and young people with autism. We are dedicated to providing a highly individualised and structured learning environment, utilising a curriculum based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). As a Trainee Teacher, you will be at the forefront of this evidence-based approach, helping our pupils to overcome challenges, develop essential life skills, and make meaningful progress. This is not a typical trainee role. From day one, you will be an integral part of a classroom team, learning directly from experienced teachers and behaviour analysts. You will receive intensive, ongoing training and mentorship, allowing you to develop the specialist skills required to design and deliver effective, individualised instruction. Our comprehensive programme will support you in gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while you work. What we are looking for: A genuine and passionate desire to teach children and young people with autism. A strong academic background, including a degree (2:2 or above) and GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science at Grade C/4 or above. An exceptional ability to learn and apply new skills, particularly in a structured, scientific teaching framework. Resilience, patience, and a positive, "can-do" attitude. A commitment to a collaborative, team-based approach to education. While previous experience with autism or ABA is an advantage, it is not essential as we provide world-class training. What we offer: A fully-funded, salaried route to achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A comprehensive and structured professional development programme, leading to specialist qualifications in ABA. Daily mentoring and support from highly experienced teachers and behaviour analysts. The opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the specific needs of our pupils. A chance to be part of a pioneering organisation at the forefront of autism education, making a profound and measurable impact every single day. A competitive trainee salary and benefits package. If you are a committed and enthusiastic individual ready to start your journey towards becoming an outstanding SEN teacher, we want to hear from you. Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
