Data Governance Analyst
Hybrid –1/2 days a week onsite
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000
We’re working with a large distribution business that’s building out its data governance capability and looking for a confident, proactive Data Governance Analyst to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in data governance who enjoys working with stakeholders to embed best practices and improve how data is catalogued, classified, and managed across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
* Supporting and improving data cataloguing and classification, helping to organise metadata and build data dictionaries.
* Working with stakeholders across the business to establish and embed governance frameworks.
* Ensuring sensitive and security-critical information is appropriately classified and managed.
* Promoting a culture of data stewardship and helping teams understand the value of high-quality, governed data.
* Contributing to documentation and data lineage activities to improve visibility and control.
What we’re looking for
* Experience in data governance, data quality, or information governance roles.
* Understanding of metadata management, data dictionaries, and classification of sensitive data.
* Familiarity with governance tools like Microsoft Purview (or similar), though not essential.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills – we’re looking for someone confident and vocal, able to work across teams to drive change.
* A proactive mindset with attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
