Archive Trainee (closing date: 08/07/25)
£24,404 per year. West Glamorgan Archive Service is looking to recruit a graduate for a temporary placement which will give them training in and experience of archive work. The period of contract will run from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026.
The Archive Trainee post provides an opportunity for graduates wishing to enter the profession to gain experience of all aspects of archive work prior to undertaking further training on one of the recognised postgraduate courses. The period of contract is designed to assist a smooth transition to one of those courses.
You will be a graduate in a relevant subject and be self-motivated, willing to play a part in a small team of professional and paraprofessional staff. You will be based in Swansea Civic Centre but will also be required on occasion to work in our Neath service point. You will be expected to participate at an appropriate level of responsibility in the preparation for a move of the archive collections.
West Glamorgan Archive Service is a joint service for Swansea and Neath Port Talbot Councils.
