Job summary
We are looking for a Chief Systems Engineer to join one of our top Defence Clients! This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead complex engineering initiatives across multiple high-integrity aerospace and defence projects.

Important: All candidates must be eligible for the relevant security vetting level and hold British Nationality as the primary nationality.
Location: This role can be based in Hertfordshire, Bristol, or Greater Manchester, with at least three days per week on-site. Travel between sites may be required.
Job description: You will assume a key technical leadership role, shaping mission-critical systems and driving innovation in the industry. The role involves activities across the full systems engineering lifecycle, with high integrity solutions demanded by customers. Regular liaison with engineering disciplines and project customers in the UK and Europe will be essential, influencing design decisions and delivering value.

Skills and Experience:
* Practical application of systems engineering processes, ideally in defence or aerospace.
* Experience managing engineering tasks and work packages, coordinating disciplines and experts.
* Stakeholder management, including UK & European project customers.
* Managing technical complexity and influencing project outcomes.
* Experience leading a systems engineering team to develop skills and achieve outcomes.
* Experience in Actuation Systems or Mechanical Systems is advantageous.
