Overview
Symphony Healthcare Services is recruiting Patient Services Advisors for the new Contact Hub at South Petherton Medical Centre, South Petherton, Somerset. The role involves assisting patients over the phone, managing appointments, handling repeat prescriptions and providing administrative support to GP surgeries across the South Somerset patch including Martock, Somerton, Stoke sub Hamdon, Crewkerne and Ilchester.
Responsibilities
* Assist patients over the phone with courteous, calm communication and provide administrative support as required.
* Manage appointments and handle repeat prescriptions.
* Undertake a variety of administrative duties in accordance with procedures, protocols and timescales.
* Work accurately and prioritise own workload while contributing to a team; meet deadlines.
* Proactively alert management/clinical staff to quality, risk and safeguarding issues.
* Demonstrate sound IT skills and familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, etc.).
Qualifications
* Essential - English & Maths GCSE or equivalent (A*-D / 9-3)
Experience
* Essential - Experience of working within a team
* Essential - Recognise the significance of different situations (including emergencies) and take appropriate action following standard policies and procedures
* Desirable - Experience of working in a customer focused environment
* Desirable - Experience of working in an administration team
* Desirable - Experience of working in the NHS or similar health care setting
* Desirable - Awareness of clinical systems such as EMIS
Salary and location
Salary: £12.21 to £12.50 per hour
Location: South Petherton Medical Centre, Bernard Way, South Petherton, Somerset, TA13 5EG
Hours and contract
* Contract: Permanent
* Working pattern: Full-time, Part-time, Job share, Flexible working, Compressed hours
The role offers over 100 hours available, with both full- and part-time options. Working patterns (times and days) will be discussed at interview, Monday to Friday.
