We’re looking for a proactive, solutions focused developer and systems owner to join our Environmental Operations service. This is a varied role, using technical and analytical skills to create, embed and improve digital processes aimed at keeping our waste, street cleansing and natural infrastructure services running smoothly.
Working alongside key stakeholders across the service, the postholder will ensure our digital portfolio provides the best possible experience for both residents and staff.
About The Role
* Lead on the management and optimisation of the Environmental Operations digital portfolio that supports our operational processes
* Lead on the creation of end-to-end digital solutions for both internal and external systems
* Act as the lead administrator for key operational systems, including our domestic waste management and digital asset management platforms
* Provide frontline training to users from a variety of backgrounds for the services you develop
* Work alongside the Service Development team to optimise and embed digital processes
* Maintain and improve our portfolio of online self-service processes
* Analyse, interpret and report on complex datasets, including national data such as the NLPG and NSG, to provide actionable insights that support ongoing development of the service
* Lead and support a range of digital activities including routing, scheduling and asset management
About You
To succeed in this role you’ll need strong analytical skills, attention to detail and confidence working across multiple systems, datasets and stakeholders.
You’ll Have
* Advanced experience creating complex digital solutions to support both internal and external users
* Demonstrable experience integrating digital systems via API
* Experience using and interpreting GIS data
* Strong experience interpreting logic statements and algorithms
* Experience developing and maintaining solutions that protect data integrity
* Experience managing user access and permissions
* Experience creating solutions that adhere to digital accessibility requirements
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and support colleagues using evolving digital solutions
A full UK driver’s licence isn’t essential for the post but is preferred as the role will be expected to support both office-based and remote users at sites across the city.
This role is suitable for flexible working with the expectation that the post holder regularly works on-site in line with the needs of the service. This may be at short notice and may on occasion include early starts to support operational teams who begin as early as 6am.
