You will be managing a busy team of friendly property lawyers working from Bedford Borough Hall. The council offices are easily accessible by train and car and we currently offer free parking in car parks within a short distance of the offices. On a daily basis you will manage work consisting of a large commercial property portfolio and, although the Council does not hold any residential stock as such, it has undergone a process in recent years of acquiring residential property for temporary accommodation use. You will be required to assist the Service Manager in the provision of a professional and comprehensive high quality legal service to the Council, its service areas and to have responsibility of the day to day management of the Property Team. The role requires you to undertake and advise in respect of complex and high profile matters relating to property work in connection with the Council’s property portfolio. This will include statutory functions to ensure that the Council’s objectives are met in terms of income and to best secure its property interests.
