Overview
The Judicial College, part of the Judicial Office, supports the Lady Chief Justice and Senior President of Tribunals in delivering training to the judiciary. The Executive Officer role is within the Planning and Operations Team (POpS) and leads a team of event organisers based in London or Leeds, with travel to other sites.
Key Duties
* Lead a team of event organisers at AO grade providing administrative support to magistrate training, using digital, face‑to‑face and blended learning methods.
* Manage team people issues—performance, attendance, conduct—adhering to HR policies.
* Establish, monitor and revise plans for the administrative support for jurisdictional training programmes.
* Work closely with other team leaders and managers to ensure the wider training programme is effectively managed and resourced.
* Maintain accurate records of attendees at training events to assist with budget management.
* Support senior managers in designing, testing and embedding new administrative procedures as part of continuous improvement projects.
* Set up and manage training event area on the College's online Judicial College Learning site, including course pages, bookings and materials.
* Ensure venues are booked and delegates are informed of event arrangements.
* Attend training events to provide event support where required.
* Take minutes of committee and planning meetings when necessary.
Other Duties
Work flexibly and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by line management commensurate with the grade.
Responsibilities
This is a full‑time role (37 hours per week) reporting to a HEO manager. The Team Leader line‑manages up to eight AO staff and will be based in London or Leeds with occasional travel to other sites.

Working Hours
