Importantly, we are looking for an individual who has the confidence to provide independent, constructive challenges to BASB partners and organisations so that we improve outcomes for adults at risk of abuse or neglect. You will also actively promote engagement with adults who need care and support, their families, and advocates to ensure their voices are heard and acted upon within the Board’s work.

About us

The Buckinghamshire’s Safeguarding Adults Board (BSAB) has a responsibility for safeguarding adults, in order to protect adults at risk of harm or abuse and to enhance their well-being and daily experience.

Our New Vision: Working together to keep adults safe in Buckinghamshire

Safeguarding is everyone’s business

About the role

The Chair will provide the independent leadership and strategic vision for the Partnership as well as robust scrutiny, holding partners to account to ensure the best outcomes for vulnerable adults and our communities.

The Independent Chair will represent and promote the reputation and work of the Partnership at both a regional and national level and so should be an effective communicator which on occasion will include contact with members of the public and the media.

About you

If you are an experienced senior leader with an in-depth knowledge of safeguarding adults and improving the outcomes for those at risk of abuse and/or neglect, then we would like to hear from you.

You should have relevant professional experience in leadership roles in identified sectors (but not limited to) Health & Social care, Criminal Justice, Education, Police, Probation, Voluntary or Academic sectors. You should be able to work collaboratively, influence others and possess both excellent communication and negotiation skills.
