Job Description:

Salary & Benefits: £62,000-£90,000 per annum | 35 days’ holiday (pro rata) | 10% in-store discount | Company Car

About the Role: This role offers responsibility for expanding and managing Lidl's portfolio in East Sussex and Kent, covering the full asset lifecycle from site identification, negotiation, and land acquisition to development, planning, construction support, and asset management. You will develop relationships with landlords, tenants, authorities, agents, and developers, overseeing the entire development and planning process from concept to completion. Strong communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to multitask under tight deadlines are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Identify, negotiate, and acquire freehold and leasehold deals for new stores.
2. Conduct site inspections, development appraisals, and manage legal and planning due diligence.
3. Manage planning application lifecycle from submission to approval and discharge of conditions.
4. Lead expansion, relocation, and infrastructure projects.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, agents, landlords, tenants, and developers.
6. Oversee the full development and planning process from initial concept to completion.
7. Manage real estate assets of freehold and leasehold properties.

Requirements:

1. Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
2. Degree (2:2 minimum), preferably in a relevant field.
3. Experience in retail acquisitions, land buying, commercial property, or town planning.
4. MRICS qualification preferred.
5. Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
6. Analytical mindset with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
8. Full driving license and willingness to travel within the UK.

Additional Benefits: Sabbatical, pension scheme, and other perks. You will be expected to work at the Gravesend (Northfleet) Property Office or in your designated area at least 3 days per week.
