JOB TITLE: Civil / Structural Draughtsperson
LOCATION: Middlesbrough
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
Role Overview:
TEXO is supporting our client in the search for a Civil / Structural Draughtsperson to join their engineering team. This role focuses on converting engineering concepts and calculations into accurate, high-quality technical drawings, models, and documentation packages for construction and fabrication. You will work closely with engineers and project stakeholders to support project delivery while ensuring compliance with standards, client requirements, and regulatory obligations. The position is primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed civil and structural drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software
* Develop and maintain drawing packages across multiple project stages
* Support engineers with design development and technical drawing production
* Review and revise drawings based on engineering mark-ups and design updates
* Prepare and manage project documentation, including revisions and issue records
* Set up and maintain drawing registers and drawing templates
* Manage drawings within a PDM / drawing management system such as Autodesk Vault
* Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to maintain drawing consistency
* Carry out drawing quality checks prior to issue
* Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
* Attend occasional site visits for information gathering and verification
* Contribute to continuous improvement in draughting standards and workflows
* Support additional project-related duties as required
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in civil and/or structural draughting
* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar CAD platforms
* Experience using PDM / drawing control systems such as Autodesk Vault
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications
* Good understanding of construction methods and structural detailing
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
* Strong communication and team collaboration skills
* Ability to manage multiple drawing deliverables and deadlines
Desirable:
* ArcGIS or other GIS software exposure
* BIM coordination workflow experience
* Experience on industrial, facility, or infrastructure projects
