The Governors of Holy Family Catholic & Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistant who will be committed to working to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Supporting our Catholic values and ethos.
* Participating in activities designed to meet the emotional, physical and learning needs of individual children and groups of children.
* Supporting pupils with routines and transitions and behaviour management.
* Accompanying pupils on visits/trips and out of school activities as required.
* Supporting pupils in developing effective relationships with peers and adults and following behaviour policy.
* Assisting with the organisation of the learning environment.
* Maintaining accurate records in accordance with school policies and data protection under the direction of the class teacher.
* Contributing to monitoring and delivery of any support plans, Education Health and Support Plans and health care plans.
* Working with the class teacher to follow professional recommendations to support any children who may have communication or interaction difficulties, cognition and learning difficulties, social and emotional difficulties.
* Dealing with general medical needs/first aid on a daily basis and specific medical needs of individual children, which may include intimate care.
* Carrying out general teaching assistant duties as appropriate.
* Being committed to working as part of a team and having excellent communication skills.
* Holding a sense of humour and a flexible approach to classroom support.
* Covering break duty, MDSA duty and first aid duties.
