Merseyside Police is seeking to recruit substantive Police Constable Transferees to commence service for start dates in 2026.

We are looking for talented substantive Constables who have the drive and energy to support the force in providing a policing service that puts our communities at the heart of everything we do. Candidates must be committed to building a diverse and inclusive force that is representative of our communities. We have recently introduced a new leadership framework that outlines the expected values, behaviours and culture within our Force. We operate across multiple functions such as:
* Response and Resolution (Patrol, scheduled resolution)
* Local Policing Neighbourhood
* Local Policing Targeted (pro‑active)
* Prevention (community engagement, safer schools, missing persons)
* Matrix (specialised roles such as Roads Policing, Disruption, Firearms, Mounted, Dogs, Airport, etc)
* Investigations
We have a simple transferee process which includes the following stages:
* Online Application Form – answering a few simple questions about your experience and preferred posting/location
* Initial Suitability Check – confirming you are substantive, from a home office force and do not have any active complaints
* Interview – interviews will be conducted in person against our leadership framework
* Discussion of posting and start date taking into account preferences, location and vacancies within the force
* Fitness Test (if not valid from home force), medical, vetting, PDR/Suitability form / Line Manager Appraisal from your current force and skill verification
* Final offer and confirmed start date/posting details
* Reference obtained from your home force confirming service dates etc.
