Job summary
We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to join our dynamic Digital Platform Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering the core digital platforms, including the Corporate Website, Registration (Account setup), My Account (Account Portal), and Community. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Digital to shape the direction of these products and ensure they meet the Organisation's vision and objectives. You will also act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on platform capabilities when interacting with stakeholders and teams across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
* Platform Ownership: Take ownership of Digital's core platforms, including the Corporate Website, Registration (Account Setup), My Account (customer Portal), and Community, ensuring they Deliver the Strategic business objectives and customer needs.
* Customer-Centric: Demonstrate a strong focus on customer experience by analyzing customer needs and ensuring the platform meets diverse customer expectations. Work closely with the team to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (UX/UI, Development, Marketing, etc.) to understand product requirements, define user stories, and prioritize features. Ensure clear communication between stakeholders to meet expectations.
* Decision-Making: Confidently make decisions around product features, enhancements, and requirements. Knowing when further technical insight or strategic direction is required
* Product Strategy & Vision: Collaborate with the Director of Digital to define and shape the strategic direction of digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the overall digital team's vision and objectives. Have experience identifying when individual features
* Cross-platform Integration: Understand how each platform integrates functionally with other systems and platforms, including any potential impacts of changes on digital or neighbouring systems. Ensure smooth interaction and integration across all digital products.
* Agile Project Management: Define and break down user stories and requirements in collaboration with the Technical Lead, ensuring work is deliverable and aligned with sprint goals. Support agile processes to ensure timely delivery of features and enhancements.
* Prioritization: Ensure that development work is appropriately prioritized, with a focus on delivering high-value items to meet business and customer needs.
* Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the SME for platform capabilities, working with technical and non-technical teams to ensure the feasibility of solutions and proper implementation.
* Continuous Improvement: Regularly analyze the performance of digital platforms, providing feedback for continuous improvement and identifying new opportunities for product enhancements.
Core Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
* 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, ideally in a technical digital product environment.
* Strong understanding of managing digital platforms (e.g., websites, portals, registration systems).
* Experience working in Agile methodologies and managing product backlogs.
* Experience breaking down complex problems into manageable tasks, ensuring alignment with product goals.
Technical Skills:
* A solid understanding of digital technologies (e.g., web development, APIs, cloud services) and platform integration.
* Knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or other project management software.
Customer Focus:
* Deep understanding of customer needs, with the ability to translate those needs into actionable product features.
* A customer-centric mindset, ensuring the platform's functionality meets diverse user requirements.
Decision Making:
* Ability to make informed decisions independently, knowing when to seek additional input from technical leads or senior management.
Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking:
* Strong analytical skills to assess product performance and drive improvements.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
